Again, not much of an effort from anyone with the exception of Cliff Edge and Dr. Love, so with their approval, the results are short once again...please start RPing, guys.
============================================================================================
The show opens with David Phoenix walking to the ring. He says that Dr. Love's actions were unforgivable, and demanded that Love come to the ring and apologize to David's face or else David would press charges. However, Michael Cassidy comes down in Love's place, telling him that he hasn't seen Love all day. He tells David that Dr. Love acted on his free will, and David's accusations wouldn't hold up in court since Bando's happened in a sanctioned, no-disqualification. He then tells David that he has nothing but sincere and upmost respect for the Phoenix family, and wishes Bando a quick and successful recovery, and also wishes David the best in his future endeavors. That's right, David Phoenix is fired!
David stares down the ramp in dismay before turning around, only to be caught in the jaw with a superkick by Dr. Love, who slid into the ring from behind David Phoenix! Dr. Love then slides a ladder into the ring, followed by a table, which he unfolds and rolls David's lifeless body on top of. Dr. Love sets up the ladder and elbow drops Phoenix through the table! He begins to celebrate as Cliff Edge runs to the ring and makes the save, although the damage had already been done.
"Ice, Ice Baby" plays and Winston Peppors dances down to the ring in his purple fuzzy jumpsuit, a reaction of confusion emitted from the audience as Cliff Edge prepares for his match.
Match 1: Cliff begins striking away at Winston before he even gets into the ring, taking out his frustrations on the awkward young newcomer. He drags him into the ring, stomping away before tossing him into a turnbuckle. Cliff Edge runs, but Winston counters with an elbow, setting him up for the Throwback powerbomb. Cliff Edge reverses it and hits a stiff DDT. He drags his body to the turnbuckle and sets him up on the top rope, then climbs up with him, eventually taking him out with the "Texas Takedown." Cliff Edge covers him and picks up the victory. He celebrates with his title as "Cocky" by Kid Rock interrupts him, and Cassidy makes his second appearance of the night. He tells Cliff Edge that he loved his performance, and thought that he "deserved the week off" leading up to the next Battlegrounds card. Cassidy also announced that starting next week, Battlegrounds would be hosted every Friday night, as opposed to every other week! The fans cheered this announcement as the scene faded to commercial.
When we returned, David Phoenix, teary-eyed with anger and disappointment, was leaving the arena with his bags as an interviewer caught up with him, asking how he felt about getting fired after only one match. David slapped him, and drove off in his car.
Main Event- "Hollywood Heartbreak" match: "The End of Heartache" by Killswitch Engage plays as Dr. Love approaches the ring, in his wrestling attire. He slaps hands with some of his fans as he slides into the ring as a good majority of the fans boo their former hero. He grabs a microphone and announces the stipulations of the match. In order to win, you must drive your opponent through a table by diving off the top of the ladder, and only then can you pin your opponent or make him submit. "Panama" by Van Halen hits the PA and Jason Ward runs down the ramp as the fans cheer for him. He poses on the turnbuckle before Dr. Love hits him with a forearm to the back and the bell sounds. The two go back and forth early in the match until Dr. Love gains control, whipping him hard into the ladder set up in the corner of the ring. He sets up the table and attempts to roll Ward on top, but Ward fights back, hitting Dr. Love between the eyes with the ladder and splitting his forehead open. Ward sets Dr. Love up for the Lookout Tower, but Love fights back and pushes him to the ropes. As he comes back, Dr. Love attempts to hit him with A Love Song, but Ward ducks under and kicks him in the guy, setting him up for First-Aid Needed. Dr. Love counters out and attempts the Bitter Pill, but again Ward counters it and shoves Dr. Love to the ropes. He rebounds and ducks under a clothesline from Ward, then quickly spins around and nails A Love Song out of nowhere. He rolls Jason Ward on top of the table and climbs the ladder, driving his elbow straight into the heart of Jason Ward. After a few seconds to regain his breath, Dr. Lovr crawls over the broken wood and pins Ward for the three count. He stands as his music plays, and motions around his waist that soon, there will be gold.
